What is it about winning in life? Why are so many of us willing to do just about anything to get ahead? These questions can sometimes be so easy to answer for some of us and for others the answers some how stay far away. I have watched many people in the last fifty years go from nothing into something. What was it that made them different than any one else? How did they seem to make it when others sat around feeling sorry for themselves and licking their wounds?

Did you know that Thomas Edison made over one thousand light bulbs before he finally made the one which would change the world. Just think for a moment. About one thousand failures before he got it right. How many of us would even dare to start some thing that we believed to be so important that we would risk one thousand failures to get there?

There was a story on the Yahoo news this morning that was quite interesting. The story was under the heading “People on the Web.” It is about a teenage girl from a middle income working household. She got an idea that she ran with and believed she could make a good income with it. She put in a lot of work and then…..

Are you a failure, or some one who never had a break in life? Did you know that breaks are not just about being in the right place at the right time, but about being able to see past where we are at to something better. 

I heard a preacher say once, that you have to have a vision. That people perish for a lack of knowledge or understanding. With out vision the people perish. Vision defined is simply the ability to see something that is not seen with the natural eye. To see ahead what will be the out come of what he starts. He explained that it isn’t because we can see with our eyes, but because we can see past what we don’t understand.

In other words, you have to be able to see past what you see with your eyes. It is the unseen that you have to see. This teenage girl was living with a single parent household. They struggled to make ends meet. They were doing the best that they could and struggled. 

Can we just be real for a moment. Every one has troubles. Every one faces the same handicaps that the other person does. So what is the difference? Why do some make something great happen and others continue in a course of pain and struggle. 

One person said to me one day: “What you perceive will become real to you.” In other words what you are able to see with your minds eye is what will become your reality. I heard that same preacher say something that is the same as this. He said: “As a man thinks in his heart so is he.” 

You have with in you the ability to be great. All the potential is inside of you. Do you know that? If you don’t my suggestion is to find it and then run with it. Through faith and perserverance we inherit the promises. 

So with that in mind now, what do you think about your future? Could it just be that you do have the ability to make something happen and be a blessing to some one if only to your family and close friends? Consider this and then go after your dreams and make it happen. You have what it takes, so go for it.
